DO NOT give the baby bird water. The chick will aspirate the water and may choke. Chicks will get their fluids from the moisture in the food described on this site.
DO NOT feed the baby bird with metal tweezers or toothpicks. The sharp ends can injure their mouths and throats. MYTH: Baby Birds should be given milk. FACT: Birds are not mammals and cannot properly digest milk. DO NOT give the bird milk. MYTH: Baby Birds should be fed earthworms FACT: Earthworms may contain harmful parasites and even bird parents do not feed these to their chicks. Avoid giving the bird earthworms. |
